WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR?
This course is designed to give those who work with abrasive wheels an introduction to the risks associated with them, how they should be handled safely, and what the legal responsibilities are for employers and employees who work with them.
Abrasive wheels are common pieces of workplace equipment. They are employed for a great many tasks across various industries, can be found in a wide variety of machinery, and come in many different shapes and sizes.
By their very nature, abrasive wheels can be dangerous, even lethal, if not managed properly. The risks associated with them include lacerations, dust inhalation, fire, crushing, and even fatal injuries.
This Abrasive Wheels Awareness course is based on HSE guidance and provides a high level of health and safety training.

This course is divided into four sections:
An overview of abrasive wheels (and the laws and guidance surrounding them)
Abrasive wheel risk assessments
Safe practices when working with abrasive wheels
Further hazards and controls
By the end of this course, you will have a grounding in all of these areas.
